In 1902, almost a century after the death of Simon Bolivar (1783-1830), a Spanish businessman living in Havana used his name for the manufacturer of a cigar brand of Habanos, as a mark of respect to the Hero. Simon Bolivar was Venezuelan a warrior, who contributes at the liberation of what is today Venezuela, Columbia, Peru and Bolivia. Nowadays, the powerful flavour of the Bolivar range is almost as widely known as it's namesake and is one of the most in demand Bolivar cigar brand, especially in Great Britain.
